If there’s one makeup product I hate shopping for, it is foundation. The way it applies on one person’s skin to another is so different, and there are so many factors that can change the way it looks and feels on your skin. Even worse, you swatch an expensive foundation, think it looks good, only to buy it and find out it oxidizes and you become an Oompa Loompa!

Today I’m sharing my five favourite high-end foundations, and my five favourite drugstore finds.

High-End Favourites

1.       Hourglass stick foundation $61 (CAD)

I was super hesitant to try a stick foundation to be honest. It just seemed a little weird to me! I love that there is no mess with this Hourglass stick foundation; it’s definitely a winner!

2.       Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint $74 (CAD)

This is my current go-to foundation. I love the coverage it gives, and it gives your skin a nice healthy glow without looking greasy!

3.       Makeup Forever Ultra HD $55 (CAD)

This foundation goes on so nice. It’s a great medium to full coverage that doesn’t look cakey.

4.       Fenty Beauty Longwear Foundation $45 (CAD)

Rihanna did not disappoint with her beauty line! Her entire line is amazing, and the selection of foundation colour alone makes Fenty jump into my top five.

5.       Georgio Armani Luminous Silk $80 (CAD)

I really wish I had never tried this foundation! I have heard rave reviews about it for so long, and I actually received a sample to try. Ugh. Literally like silk on your skin!

Drug-Store Favourites

1.       Maybelline BB cream $9 (CAD)

I absolutely love using a BB cream in the summer months. I find a full coverage foundation is too heavy, yet I still need my skin to be evened out. I use this BB cream every single day during the summer months!

2.       Maybelline Fit Me Foundation $12 (CAD)

I have tried both the matte and dewy versions of this formula, and I definitely would rank this at the top end of the drugstore foundation list! It provides a nice even coverage that lasts.

3.       NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Foundation $15 (CAD)

NYX is one of my favourite drugstore brands for all things makeup. Their foundations are affordable and they apply so well.

4.       L’Oreal Tru Match $14 (CAD)

Similar to Fenty, there are so many shades to choose from with this foundation! One of my pet peeves is having to mix foundations to find the perfect shade, and you won’t need to do that with this brand.

5.   L’Oreal Infallible $14 (CAD)

Another L’Oreal win! This foundation is buildable, and has a nice natural finish that doesn’t leave your skin too dewy or too dry.

I hope you enjoyed my foundation favourites! I’d love to know yours!
